The dining room

This 16 meters length part on 9 meters broad was reorganized and decorated about 1880, at the time of the interior restoration of the castle. At the bottom of this part is an equestrian statue of the constable Olivier de Clisson, realized in 1892 by Emmanuel Frémiet.

This room constitutes a remarkable testimony of the decorative style to the mode at the end of the 19th century, which is strongly inspired by the Middle Ages.

The anteroom

Rodin bust

In this part of the castle are presented a certain number of portraits of family.
While entering, on the left of the window, a beautiful full-length portrait of Henri de Rohan, general-in-chief of Calvinistes. After the dismantling of the castle, ordered in 1629 by the Cardinal of Richelieu, this one approached Henri de Rohan at the Court while saying to him: Mister the Duke, I have just thrown a good ball in your ninepins.
With the number of the family memories presented here, a beautiful bust carried out in 1910 by the famous scupltor Auguste Rodin, representing the Duke Alain de Rohan, who made carry out the interior installation of the castle at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century.

The large living room

This part, of same dimensions that the dining room, is dominated by the presence of a superb monumental chimney, built at the beginning of the 16th century.

APLUSOn this chimney of granite, painted at the 19th century,
one finds the currency of Rohan HAS MORE.
In the loop of P, the head of a man appears who could be Jean II.

The parts of furniture all were almost carried out at the 18th century, in particular the whole of the armchairs and chairs laid out in front of the chimney. They are the work of the Heurtaut cabinetmaker, about 1760.

An exceptional part is also in the large living room: a clock produced about 1770 by large Parisian workshops, gift of the King Louix XV with the Rohan family.

The library

It includes/understands approximately 3000 volumes, which date from the 17th century at the beginning of the 20th century. Some are decorated very beautiful bindings.

The chimney, decorated many emblems, was built at the beginning of the 16th century, like that of the large living room.

Lastly, in the small anteroom, while leaving, two beautiful portraits representing Marguerite de Rohan and her husband Henri Chabot are the work of the painter Charles Beaubrun at the 17th century.
